“the greatest “ 最棒的      (滿頭問號???)

喔!原來是形容詞不同等級的用法:

Great-棒 < greater-更棒 < the greatest-最棒

比較級，在中文的說法，相當於"較"或"更"，是需要有另一樣東西作比較才會產生的。
最高級，在中文的雙法，為"最"或是"極度的"是需要有三樣以上的群體作比較。

Adjective形容詞 原級、比較級、最高級
1~2個音節的單字，也就是說比較短的單字，在比較級時只要字尾+er，在最高級時單字前+the，單字字尾+est。

規則I:  1~2個音節	原級	比較級 + --er (更…/比較…)	最高級 +the --est (最…)
	Tall 高 Short 矮 Fast 快	Taller 較高 Shorter 較矮 Faster 較快	the tallest 最高 the shortest 最矮 the fastest 最快
	ex. Among us, Leo is the tallest one.  在我們之中，里歐是身高最高的一個。
短母音+子音à重複字尾	big 大	bigger 較大	The biggest 最大
去y + ier / iest 短母音+子音à重複字尾	pretty 漂亮 happy快樂	prettier 較漂亮 happier較快樂	the prettiest最漂亮 the happiest最快樂

3個音節以上的單字呢，或是字尾有ed, ing, some, ous, ful, less, ive的單字，在比較級時單字前面+more，最高級時單字前面+the most

規則II: 3個音節以上、字尾： ed, ing, some, ous, ful, less, ive	原級		比較級 + more (更…/比較…)		最高級 + the most (最…)

	Ex. He is the most serious person I have ever met. 他是我見過最嚴肅的人
--ed (形容人的感覺)	Surprised  驚訝的 Excited   興奮的 Terrified  嚇壞的	more surprised 更驚訝的 more excited 更興奮的 more terrified 更多的驚嚇		the most surprised 最驚訝的 the most excited 最興奮的 the most terrified 最多的驚嚇(極驚恐)
	Ex. Compare to snakes, I am more terrified by ghosts. 比起蛇，鬼更會讓我嚇破膽。
--ing (描述事情)	Tiring   累的 Interesting   有趣的 amazing   神奇的	more tired 更累的 more interesting 更有趣的 more amazing 較神奇的		the most tired 最累的 the most interesting 最有趣的 the most amazing 最神奇的
	Ex. The most interesting part in this game is the punishment. 這個遊戲最有趣的部分就是懲罰啦!
--some	Troublesome 麻煩的 Lonesome   寂寞的 Handsome   帥的	more troublesome 較麻煩的 more lonesome 較寂寞的 more handsome 較帥的		the most troublesome 最麻煩的 the most lonesome 最寂寞的 the most handsome 最帥的
	Ex. After the hair cut, he looked more handsome. 理髮之後，他看起來更帥了
y發/i/時,去y+ ier / iest	busy 忙碌	busier 較忙碌		the busiest 最忙碌

另外也有完全不遵守以上規則的「小叛逆」單字，喜歡得到大家的注意所以跟別人都不一樣，大家可要牢牢記住它們比較級和最高級的用法囉！
